Does this sound
familiar to you?
Emetophobia is more than just an aversion; it is a genuine phobia that restricts one’s life in many ways. Many of the people who come to me are familiar with these experiences:
Fear of losing control
The thought of having to vomit triggers panic, not because of the vomiting itself, but because you feel you’ve lost control. It’s exhausting.
Food as a source of stress
Certain foods, restaurants or meals with others become a torment. You avoid situations that others find perfectly normal, and you feel ashamed of this.
Social isolation
Parties, eating out, holidays, public transport, everything is accompanied by a mental safety check. Fear dictates what you do and what you don’t do.
Physical hypervigilance
You’re constantly monitoring your body for signs of nausea. Every rumbling, every warmth, every strange sensation in your stomach immediately sets off alarm bells.
Nobody really understands
“Don’t be so dramatic”, you know that phrase all too well. The people around you often don’t understand how real and how overwhelming this anxiety is. That makes it even lonelier.
Fear of others being ill
If someone close to you is ill or might be ill, your internal alarm bells start ringing immediately. That’s why some people avoid crowds altogether, especially in winter.
How I can
help you
The support group is no substitute for therapy, but it is something that many people describe as just as valuable: a safe space where you finally feel understood.
-
1
You’re not alone - finally!
In the group, you’ll meet people who know exactly what you mean. No need to explain, no need to justify. That sense of belonging is often the first step towards feeling better.
-
2
Structure rather than chaos in the mind
I guide the group using a structured framework: topics, exercises and prompts that help participants to better understand their anxiety, and gradually change it.
-
3
Practical tools for everyday life
You’ll learn specific techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, simple, practical and effective.
-
4
Online – from anywhere and without any pressure
No need to travel to a group room, no hunting for a parking space, no explaining yourself to those around you. You can join in whenever and wherever suits you, in the comfort of your own home.
-
5
Step by step towards greater freedom
The aim isn’t to overcome your fear overnight. It’s about reducing it, until you can do things again that currently feel impossible.

Why I ’m offering this
“As someone who also suffers from emetophobia, I understand how isolating it can feel, especially when people don’t take it seriously or laugh about it. I went through behavioral therapy and feel much better now. I want to share what I’ve learned and help you feel less alone with it.”
As a coach specialising in overcoming anxiety and behavioural change, it is truly close to my heart to create a space designed to make every person feel comfortable and safe, without any pressure at all.
The group meets online and is facilitated by me personally. We’ll decide on the group size, frequency and format together, which is why it’s important for me to know when you’re available.
